Design a Mug for Macmillan
As part of their ongoing partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, the Card Factory is selling mugs for Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning' on Friday, 25th September.
Thy are inviting children of primary school age from across the UK to draw a picture to be printed on a coffee mug and return it to them. The winner's school will receive a donation on £1000 to spend on arts and crafts materials.
They ask that the design follows the theme of 'My Family'.
To enter, simply visit the Card Factory website: www.cardfactory.eu.com.
An adult needs to agree to the terms and conditions to validate entries, and all entries must be completed on the special format you can download from the website.
Thank you to Anoa for bringing the leaflet into school. We do hope those of you who choose to take part have fun creating your mug designs!

ISA South London Squad
Both Freddie P. and Cameron M. (year 5) qualified for the ISA South London Football Squad, via school, and trained hard during the holidays. At the end of the holiday, they played Charlton Athletics' development squad, beating them 6-5. Cameron scored the first goal, which, according to eye witensses, was a real belter, and Freddie scored the third.
The result was not expected as last year's ISA team was soundly beaten.
Congratulations to both boys on being selected for this prestigious team, and for representing Rosemead and South London so well!
Walk on Wednesdays
29 Apr 2009 7:22PM
As part of our drive to encourage more pupils to walk at least part of the way to school on a regular basis we are going to trial a "walking bus" for 'Walk on Wednesdays'.
The trial bus will leave Tesco Express, 1/5 Croxted Road, Dulwich,
at 8.30am and will stop to collect at the following points:
– The Rosendale;
– Corner of Eastmearn Road and Rosendale Road;
– Corner of Eastmearn Road and Tulsmere Road.
We anticipate that parents will walk the route on a rota basis and, if the trial is successful, we would hope to increase the days and routes available.
If you would like to join in with the bus on Wednesdays, please email me here to confirm.

News about our girls
Angharad and Alannah (both year 4) played in the Girls Under 11 finals in Bolton on the first day of the Easter holidays. Kent did amazingly well and won the championship.
On Saturday, 24th April, Angharad played for the Mixed Under 9's Kent team, won all her games and the team won the championship.
Under 9 and Under 11 can sometimes be confusing... What it REALLY means is children who are 9 and under or 11 and under, so in both cases the girls can be playing against children who are a lot older than they are.
It's obviously a great year for Kent, but particularly for young chess players and we should celebrate the contribution that Rosemead chess players have made and in this instance, particularly the girls, as they really have shown that they too are developing into super players!
News about our boys
As you may be aware both Hector and Raphael were at the England U11 Team Trials in Liverpool over the weekend. The top 50 U11 and U10 were competing for 20 places in the England team. Raphael did extremely well and has been selected to represent England internationally. Raphael will be going to Holland in June representing England against Holland. Unfortunately Hector just missed out as a result of losing a game and is therefore currently in the England B team. Hector still has the opportunity to qualify for the main England team in November and December of this year.
(There's certainly plenty to celebrate with the talent we have here at Rosemead. Hearty congratulations to each of you!)
