Wild woods are full of amazing animals

Open air every day makes you feel alive

Only secrets can be told in the secret places that are old

Deep down underground, nuts are always found

Secrets are still hidden in places you won’t know – but always be careful where you go.

By Lily – 2G

This was written at home by Lily, when she was off school, having her tonsils removed. We thought it was such a super acrostic that we had to post it on the PP. We thought it was a wonderful use of time – particularly when Lily was not feeling 100%. Well done!

If there is anyone else who had been off school and has created something they would like to share, please let us know.

National Family Week

14 May 2009 8:09PM

Did you know that half-term week is 'National Family Week'? Mrs. Walker from RT very kindly sent me an email about it today.

If you are interested in joining in the fun AND trying to get into the Guinness Book of Records, read on for a snippet from the 'National Family Week' website...

Get ready to pack up your hamper, rug and relatives and head down to Regent's Park on Monday 25th May and join thousands of families across the UK in the National Family Week attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest picnic across multiple venues.

Many towns and cities across the UK are already joining the attempt and Regent's Park is having a slice of the action. The world record attempt will take place in the beautiful setting of the Queen Mary’s Gardens, Holme Green and Marylebone Green. Regent’s Park will be spearheading the picnicking action with a fun-filled picnic extravaganza with registration opening at 11am and entertainment from 12pm. Plus families will be able to enjoy free strawberries and cream courtesy of Sainsbury's whilst being a part of a world record attempt.

Thank you to Mrs. Riley for organsing maths week and for creating some super hands-on maths experiences for the children. Clearly, from the opinions we read in the PP yesterday, much fun was had by all.

(Apologies for the typing errors in a couple the children's comments. I'm afraid I had tried to type them up rather too quickly. Please note, they had been perfectly written in the original..! Mrs. Sherwood)

Next week we will be celebrating 'Science Week' at Rosemead. Mrs. Lock has been busy organising packs containing exciting experiments for all the teachers from year 1 to year 6 to carry out in class. This, on the back of maths week, organised by Mrs. Riley, is really giving the children some wonderful practical experiences in their learning. Each of the children at TPR should have brought home a letter today about science week. To see a copy of the letter, click *here*.

Parental Plea

12 May 2009 6:49PM

Help needed for Friday's Quiz Night.

We currently have a team of 4 for this Friday's Quiz and we need another 2 to 4 people to join our team. We are all reasonably nice people but rubbish at quizzes, so what we need are like-minded people who can either answer ALL the difficult questions for us or who don't mind winning the chocolates for the lowest scoring team (they were very nice chocolates last year ...we know, we won them). If you're interested please email me, Martha, or just book your place and join us on the night.

Many thanks!
