International Day Treat!
11 Jun 2009 12:44PM

For information about treats available tomorrow afternoon, please read on:
I am an ex pupil of Rosemead, leaving for Trinity in 2000. Since then I have taken a gap year and have now finished my first year at University studying history.
I am fundraising to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and Mt Blanc in the summer. I am coming to Rosemead tomorrow (Friday 11th June) to sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the TPR playground after school.
All money raised will be going directly to the charity
'Childreach International', and is not providing expenses for my trips.
Stuart Milne
If you would like to buy a doughnut - and support Childreach International in the process, come and see Stuart tomorrow.

International Day
On Friday, 12th June, the Student Council has organised an International Day. On this day, all children from Nursery to year 6 - and all staff, are invited to come to school dressed in the colours or national costume of a country of their choice. We have decided to allow this, rather that saying that people have to come in the colours or their own country, as year 6 will have just come back from France, and some of them are highly likely to want to be French for the day!
Rather than simply dressing up, however, we are asking that children and staff bring in facts about their particular country. To make this differentiated for different age groups, we have settled on the following:
Nursery - no fact (unless they want to)
Reception - random fact
Year 1 - 1 fact
Year 2 - 2 facts
Year 3 - 3 facts
Year 4 - 4 facts
Year 5 - 5 facts
Year 6 - 6 facts
Staff - Several facts
The cost to participate in this excellent event, 50p, which will go to 'JET'.
It promises to be a great deal of fun...

Medal Haul for Rosemead Swimmers
Congratulations to all our swimmers who competed in the LSSA Primary Schools’ Championship Finals last night (10th June). They all did hugely well to qualify and performed magnificently on the night. We had six relay teams who won medals, and out of those, one team won silver and one team winning bronze. And we also enjoyed two individual bronze medals for Cameron M's 25m freestyle and Freddie P’s 25m backstroke (both year 5 boys). Our efforts on the night also placed Rosemead in 2nd place overall in the mixed schools category - an outstanding achievement. An enormous well done to everyone!

Summer of Sport in full swing at Rosemead!
While the weather has been typically temperamental, Rosemead’s summer of sport has nevertheless certainly arrived. With Sports Day almost upon us and the return of our school swimming gala to look forward to, summer sports are well and truly in full swing at Rosemead; with the likes of tennis, cricket, rounders and athletics all in action. We recently took part in ISA competitions for rounders and kwik cricket, where we enjoyed splendid afternoons. Our children, as usual, performed excellently and represented the school exceptionally. Well done to all!

Dear Parents,
In order for the School Photography Co. to set up and prepare for the whole school photograph, there will be no access to the playground at TPR on Monday morning. ALL pupils should enter school via main reception and go directly to their classrooms where their teachers will be waiting for them.
Any children attending a club on Monday morning should arrive early as usual.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
