Year 6 Trip
9 Jul 2009 6:13PM
On 29th June, year 6 were invited to Waalacespace. Many thanks to Mrs. Gilmore Kerr for a wonderful day.
I really wasn't sure what was going to happen when we went to Wallacespace, but it was SUCH FUN! Polly
Lunch was magnificent - the best chocolate brownie ever. Creative ideas from Susie made our art look amamzing. Gemma
Renata's work was v cool - it had bright blue floors and L shaped sofas.Marina
There were loads of flatscreen TVs. We drew around each other and did body art on the outline of our body. Adam
After lunch we finished making clothes for our paper "body". Ella M.
Everyone loved walking around without shoes! Roshni
I enjoyed doing self portraits and collaging and painting them. Ella W.
Even Mrs. Riley did one, it was really good. Our "bodies" were stuck on the walls and our photos taken. Savannah
We took the train from Tulse Hill to St. Pancras. Ella H.
Trying to draw around Eleanor - it was really tricky as she kept moving and wriggling. I had to spend a long time on her feet as she kept wiggling them! Ellie Wyncoll
We went up loads of stairs until we got to the attic room - we got into pairs and drew around each other on massive lengths of paper using thick felt pens. Zahra
Wallacespace is a fantastic place - an artist's place. Claudia
Our trip was exciting and really entertaining. We enjoyed the art. So cool. Anna
At the end of our day was were given a big bag of sweets with refreshers, flying saucers and black jacks. Delicious! Tejan
Our pal drew around us. It was ticklish too. Then I got revenge and did it to you! Emilia
We ate some sweets at the end in a little bag with a card. It was very kind of them. Finlay
Action packed day, loved by all. You really inspired me to be creative. Lauren

Swim Squad Thanks
9 Jul 2009 3:41PM

Thank you to all the swim squad (and swim squad parents) for their very kind gift. All the children in swim squad contribute to make a good team and it has been a pleasure to be involved in teaching you this year. Good luck to all the Year 6s in their new schools - keep up the swimming - and to all those who will be back in September, I look forward to seeing you all again for some more hard training! Well done, Hannah, for being a most successful Swimming Captain.
Thank you again.
Mrs Nicholson
Elmcourt News

SHINE week started superbly with Flora Jones's family playing cello, French horn and piano to the children of EC. The children and staff shed a tear at the highly emotive piece by Saint-Saens, "The Swan" in the Carnival of the Animals. The children of EC demonstrated many different talents at lunchtime, from hula-hooping to break-dancing. Well done to all those children that shared their talent.

International Chess Results
In recent weeks Raphael K and Hector H have competed in a number of international chess tournaments. Raphael represented England in a highly competitive chess tournament against the Dutch U12s team in Holland, which England only marginally lost. Both Raphael and Hector represented London U11s against the Rest of England last weekend. London won 24 to 18. Recently Hector also represented England SE against Wales U12s which England SE won 17½ to 6½. Well done to both boys.
RSA News - Summer Ball Request

Ball Tickets
We have drawn a blank with trying to find the Hoppers - we have a cheque in that name for 2 tickets for the Ball but can't marry it up with any paperwork.
If anyone knows of anyone buying Ball tickets under this name, could they please let the RSA know, or contact the School Office.
Many thanks.
