Year 4 Footballers open season against a tough Alleyn's squad
This Wednesday saw Rosemead fielding not one, but two teams against Alleyn's at Dulwich Sports Ground. Despite eventually falling in both matches, the coaches present were impressed by the level of determination in our Rosemead players, even when facing an unfavourable scoreline.
Well done to all the boys who took part - keep developing your skills with Coach Erkan and we'll get our first win in no time.
Year 6 Trip to the Guardian
29 Sep 2009 1:14PM
The highlight of this school trip was seeing a printed front page of a newspaper, written entirely by me. Rachel
Holly and I started our newspaper with the Education Act and then moved on to doing the telephone. Georgia
I learned a lot about Victorians and jouralism, it was really fin! Raphael
I enjoyed researching and finding information that I did not know about the Victorian times. I had an enjoyable day. Cameron
The room where we were typing overlooked a canal Olivia
I am now inspired about how much fun it was. I now would like to be a journalist! Phoebe K.
The hardest part was picking our two topics. We picked medicine and Queen Victoria's wedding. There were so many marvellous topics. Neetika
I really enjoyed making the front page and I want to be a journalist when I'm older. Holly
The first thing we talked about in our paper was the Great Exhibition. We explained in detail all about it.
I looked up mines on the internet and found some information about how the mines were so dangerous, how children as young as 4 worked there and the only source of light came from a few candles and oil lamps. Rebecca
Raphael and I made a front cover of a newspaper. Nathanael
We will have more of the children's thoughts over the next few days.

Fun For Reception
29 Sep 2009 1:04PM
Recently the reception children enjoyed doing observational drawings of fish - a mackerel, a trout and a crab. They also enjoyed eating them!
Here we have some pictures of their experiences.

Chess News
28 Sep 2009 4:29PM

Rosemead was successful in the first Chess tournament of the season. We had a number of children competing in the first Kent Grand Prix tournament.
Edith H competed in the U8s section and won the Top Girl Prize, Angharad J competed in a tough U10s section and did well in finishing midfield.
Raheem A, Ianto J, Hector H and Raphael K all competed in a highly contested U12s section. Raheem did well in finishing midfield. Ianto did well in qualifying for the London Championship Minor Finals, whilst Hector and Raphael both finished third and second respectively and qualified for the London Championship Major finals.
Furthermore, Rosemead won the school trophy as a result of everyone's fantastic performances (beating the national runners-up into second place). Well done to everyone.

RSA News - Correction to AGM Start Time
28 Sep 2009 4:17PM
RSA AGM
On Tuesday 29th September (tomorrow) we will be holding the RSA's annual general meeting in the Dining Room at TPR, starting at 7.30pm. It's a great opportunity to meet all those directly involved in the RSA and to have your say on what you feel the funds raised by the RSA during the course of the year should be spent on.
Do you think the money raised should go towards,
a) teachers' clothing allowances,
b) interactive whiteboards, or
c) something else?
Come and enjoy a convivial evening, have a glass of wine and have your say...
