A reminder to all that tomorrow (Thursday) there is an RSA evening meeting. This will be held in the Dining Room at TPR. It will start at 7.30pm. Do come along and join us if you are available. It's a great opportunity to have a chat with other parents, and to share opinions about how the RSA can support Rosemead.
National 'Wear Red Day'
24 Feb 2010 8:05PM
The Student Council is inviting everyone at EC and TPR to wear red on Friday. This is to celebrate 'Wear Red Day', which is a national event, which has been organised by the British Heart Foundation. To learn more about the British Heart Foundation, click here.
Do not worry if you do not have an all red outfit, just wear what you have. The Student Council is asking everyone who comes to school wearing red on Friday to make a small donation. They will visit classes during the course of the day to collect any donations brought in.
Many thanks for your cooperation.
Literacy Week
24 Feb 2010 8:05PM

Literacy Week is next week from 1st to 5th March. Your child should be bringing home a £1 voucher on Friday, 26th February, or Monday, 1st March. This can be used to purchase one of the special £1 books available or put towards a more expensive book or audiobook at participating booksellers.
The author and illustrator Dee Shulman will be at Thurlow Park Road on Monday 1st March to work on writing with children from Year 3 to 6. At the end of the day Dee will be selling and signing some of her books and these cost £4.99 or £5.99.
Thursday 4th March is World Book Day and children at TPR are invited to dress up as a character from a book or fairy story. Children at Elmcourt will be dressing up on Friday 5th March.

Chess News
23 Feb 2010 8:56AM

As you may all be aware, Rosemead has a tradition of being strong at chess and in achieving great results at national level, most notably, Runners-up in the U9s National Primary School Championships in 2008 and currently Winners of the U11s Champions League Chess National School Championships. Presently our U11s will be competing in the semi-finals of the National Primary School Championships in June. With such a strong tradition and under the guidance of our chess Grandmaster, Mr. Rumens, we are keen to encourage Rosemead pupils to play in the Kent Junior Chess Association tournaments and, in turn, to gain the opportunity to represent Kent at national level and continue our tradition of great Rosemead successes. Currently, we have the following pupils who play for Kent; Raphael K, Hector H, Ianto J and Angharad J.
Forthcoming KJCA tournaments include 20th February GP4 and 7th March GP5. You can download an entry form from KJCA as well as register online. If you have any questions relating to playing in a tournament or entry into a GP please email Thierry Huser.
