RSA Junior Quiz Night

Congratulations to the winning team; the Radioheads

Thomas D.

Debra A.

Amber M.

Rebecca K.

Emilia H.

Ali L.

An amazing £115 was raised by the evening and the winning team has the honour of choosing where the prize money will be donated.

Of course, they also have our congratulations for doing so well in a really tightly contested quiz. There were very few points between the teams, so everyone should feel proud of their contribution - not least to a charitable event!

We were delighted this year to welcome back eight of last year's year 6s. This is the first time we've opened up the quiz to old boys and girls, and we very much hope that next year we'll be seeing some of our present year 6s returning and telling us all about their new schools.

Not only did we have returning pupils from last year, but from even further back in Rosemead's history:

Ahmed (Rosemead year of 2004)... delivering the fish and chips!, Antonia (Rosemead year of 2005), Dylan (Rosemead year of 2007) and Alex (Rosemead year of 2009), all helped to make the evening a joyful occasion.

I'm sure that Mrs. Sherwood and Mrs. Brown would join me in saying what a special thing it is about Rosemead that so many past pupils enjoy coming back through the purple door at Thurlow Park Road. We absolutely love to see them!

It goes without saying that our greatest thanks go to Jane and Jonothan Round, for the hours of work they put into setting the questions and managing everything on the night. It really is a big task and one they do so very well.

Finally - thank you to all the parents who helped on Friday - we couldn't have done it without you.

Just a quick note to reassure all parents that the eggs the Easter Bunny will be delivering to Rosemead are from Kinnerton, and carry their 'nut safety' promise. They do, however, contain cow's milk and soya.

Rosemead Summer Raffle - Prizes Needed!

We know it’s not Easter yet... but we’ve already started planning for the summer fair (12th June) and, in particular, we’re on the hunt for some prizes for our summer raffle – one of our biggest fundraisers.

This year, the proceeds will be split between the RSA (to fund some more interactive whiteboards) and the Joint Educational Trust (JET). JET helps children, who’ve suffered seriously in some way, to make a fresh start by enabling them to attend an independent or state boarding school.

If you or your company are willing to donate a prize, it would be greatly appreciated! In the past, we’ve had everything from a laptop to an iPod and from bottles of wine to free places on children’s holiday courses. Smaller prizes like vouchers, a box of chocolates, new CDs, DVDs or toiletries are also very popular.

Where relevant, we’ll publicise the company or product by including information on the raffle flyer (with the top three prizes also listed on the tickets). We’ll be getting the tickets printed in early May, so if you have something you could donate, please let Emma Jones know (Mum of Ruby, 3G and Tabitha, N) asap (and by the end of April at the latest) – T: 07967 325782, E: ec_jones@yahoo.co.uk. Thank you!
