Dear Parents,
I would like to inform you that several children in Year 3 have contracted chickenpox.
If anyone is dropping off/picking up siblings of children infected with chickenpox, please could they ensure the infected child does not come into the playground or in contact with other families in the school. This is so we can avoid cross infection where possible. Thank you very much for your co-operation in this matter.
If you have any concerns at all, do not hesitate to contact me, on
020 8 655 9553.
Yours sincerely,
Sally Butler

RSA News - Quiz Night Reminder
12 May 2010 10:19AM
The RSA Adult Quiz Night is almost upon us - it's this Friday, 14th May. It is a wonderful opportunity to get together with some other parents and teachers, to have a stab at a few answers, have a glass or two of something flavoursome, and a fish/chicken/vegetarian option and chips from Olley's, while you're mulling over your answers.
For those of you who have not yet ordered tickets, it's not too late. Simply click *here* to download a form.
There are prizes for the team that finishes in first place - and the team that finishes in last place. Now, you can't say fairer than that!

U11 Inter-County National Championships
Hector H, Raphael K and Ianto J (all yr 6) represented Kent in the U11 Inter-county National Championships held in Bolton last Saturday.
The start was rather dramatic. The first round was scheduled to commence at 11.45am (with 50 minutes on the clock). We had all taken the 8am train from Euston and scheduled to arrive at the venue at 10.45am. However there was a technical fault on the line and the train was delayed by 2 hours! The organisers agreed to delay the start of the tournament by 25 minutes….. however our boys clocks would start as soon as the tournament commenced irrespective of whether or not they were sitting at their board ready to play. Finally we arrived at the venue with just 10 minutes left on the clock whilst each of our boys’ opponents still had their full 50 minutes. Despite this set back the team still managed to score 14.5 out of 20. With wins for Hector, Ianto and a draw for Raphael, placing Kent second at the end of the first round.
After three rounds of playing Kent finished national runners-up only ½ a point behind the winners. Raphael, Hector and Ianto all did extremely well in their performances. Well done everyone.

Parent Assemblies
9 May 2010 8:41PM

We have now had two of our parent assemblies this term, where parents have come to TPR to talk about their profession. Ms. Abella gave the children a marvellous lesson on translating and interpreting during the first of these, and at one point she had several children out at the front of the hall interpreting what she was saying in German, Italian and Swedish.
Last week, Ms. Jones gave a wonderful presentation on environmental consultancy using PowerPoint. At Rosemead we are striving to become 'greener' and Ms. Jones's assembly certainly gave us plenty to think about.
So, this week we have Mr. Broadbent speaking about project management. We can't wait!
RSA News - Coffee Morning
7 May 2010 3:23PM
Thank you to everyone who came to the RSA's coffee morning on Friday 30th April - especially those of you who had other commitments but managed to pop in for a quick cuppa. We raised £35 in donations - so a big thanks to all who contributed.
A big thank you to Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Lambton, both of whom made the morning go smoothly. Special thanks also go to Donna, who baked us a lemon loaf, but was unable to stay to watch us all enjoy it!! Jacks' toffee cake had us licking our sticky fingers and Annie's Anzac biscuits were just like you get in New Zealand - delicious!!
Our next coffee morning is on Friday 11th June at the TPR site - I hope to see you all then for cake and coffee.
