Since yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), we have been unable to access our emails, owing to internet problems. We have been told by our technicians that this appears to be a regional problem. If you need to contact Rosemead, for the time being, please do so by phone. We will inform you when our email is once again active.

Thank you.

Eco Science Week

25 May 2010 7:47PM

wow_2.JPG

Last week, the children and staff had a wonderful time, at both EC and TPR, performing experiments, making and wearing eco fashion costumes, and designing eco homes and vehicles. Over the next couple of days, we will be uploading some of the photos staff took of the events.

The children were also invited to write a poem or design a poster to promote walking to school. Below, we have a poem and a rap, written by two girls in year three. We thought you might enjoy them...

My Walk To School - by Serena – Year 3

We pack my bags and leave our house, we lock the door and latch,

We’re going for a very long walk, to my school in the purple patch.

I can hear birds singing in their nests, that their chicks are about to hatch,

Everything is sunny, blue and green until we reach near the purple patch.

We walk past the Dulwich College, boys play an early football match,

I know we’re half way there now, on our way to the purple patch.

I learn spellings, maths and tables, there’s really quite a batch

Of things to know before I get to school, and see my teacher in the purple patch.

I can see my friends in purple now, there’s six dogs upon a lead,

I’m now at the gate of the purple patch, you know my favourite school – Rosemead!

My Walk To School Rap - by Liliana - Year 3

Walk to school, it looks so cool!

Walk to school, don't be a fool!

You feel the breeze upon your neck

You see the birds going peck, peck, peck.

The sun is going up quite high

And cars are always zooming by.

The trees are always flowing green

It's more like a lovely scene.

Walk to school, it looks so cool!

Walk to school, don't be a fool!

You feel the breeze upon your neck

You see the birds going peck, peck, peck.

RSA News - Cake Sale

25 May 2010 12:13PM

rsa_logo.JPG

Counting is done and despite some very entrepreneurial thinking by Lancaster (who really had very few cakes so bought Tudors and tried to sell them on at a substantial profit!) Tudor have come out victorious this time.

Tudor = £60.79

York = £51.01

Lancaster = £19.45

Elmcourt = £36.60

Total = £167.85

Well done to all the houses - and thanks to all the bakers and buyers. We hope you all enjoyed your cakes.

RSA News - Summer Fair

21 May 2010 10:22AM

rsa_logo.JPG

The summer fair is only 3 weeks away, and our annual raffle will be drawn at the fair, on 12th June. Books of raffle tickets have been given to each child this week. Our top prizes have all been donated by Rosemead parents - a big thank you to them!

Our top prize is a portrait of you or your children by nursery Mum Sophy Bristol (check out her website - www.sophybristol.com). Second prize is a gorgeous Smythson 'Erica' bag. Or you might win an iPod, a case of real ale, London Eye flights, vouchers for Boden, Pizza Express, Jo Partridge or Beamish & McGlue, a sumptuous Mulberry washbag, tickets to the Unicorn theatre, a therapeutic back message - and more!

Half of the proceeds will go towards buying more interactive whiteboards for the school, with the other half going to the charity JET (which pays for chidren who have suffered harm to go to independent schools or state boarding schools). So do please try to buy and/or sell as many tickets as you can! (And for anyone who is feeling really keen, you can get more books of tickets from the school office.) Everyone who buys/sells a whole book of tickets gets a voucher to use at the Lucky Dip stall at the fair.
