Rosemead and the England U11s Chess Squad
Hector and Raphael (both year 6) played as part of a 14 strong England U11s Chess team against Holland U15s over the weekend in Liverpool. The tournament ran over two days, the first day being a two round long-play tournament and the second day a six round rapid play tournament. Both Hector and Raphael did extremely well in either winning or drawing their games and helping England win the long-play tournament with a score of 17 ½ to 10 ½. The rapid play tournament was more hotly contested which ended in a 42 – 42 draw.
Rosemead is the only school in the whole of England to have two players representing England in the international tournament over the weekend. This is such a major achievement considering that there are around 19,000 junior and prep schools throughout England.

We have had a bunch of keys in the office for most of last week and no one has collected them. It consists of a black car key and 3 other keys.
Also, we have 3 pairs of children’s spectacles.
